“Last week,” Pete said, taking another swig from the bottle. “Only a couple of days and we’ll all be going home, and it will be back to libraries, lectures, and instant noodles for me.”

He sighed, kicking at a loose pebble on the concrete floor. It was the end-of-season party for the staff, most of the resort now empty, the busy period finally behind us. A skeleton staff–mainly the veterans–kept things moving while the rest of us were celebrating. Pete and I had steeled ourselves away to a balcony overlooking the main pool, leaning against the warm metal railing as we drank.

“Do you think you’ll miss it?” I asked.

He nodded. “Won’t you?”

“Absolutely,” I smiled, watching from above as another group of staff arrived, laughing and stumbling their way toward the entrance. “Remember when the power went out and we were stuck with those guests at the forest bar?”

“Yeah,” Pete said, smiling at the memory. “Mara was flipping her shit. I thought we were going to have to sleep out there at one point.”

I laughed. “Might not have been so fun with fifteen angry guests.”

“True,” he conceded, taking another sip of his drink. “What about the time those two honeymooners got absolutely wasted and passed out naked in the hammocks? I don’t think they’d ever had anything stronger than an ice tea before.”

“Yeah, I remember. And when we woke them up the husband tried to tip you with his room key card while his wife was just…there…her butt up in the air.”

Pete shook his head at the memory. “Wild.”

We fell into a comfortable silence, watching a lone couple drift by on a raft in the pool below, their laughter floating up to us.

“Sometimes, I feel like I can’t even remember who I was before this summer…” I said. “I think back to the first day I got here and…all those tiny bikinis…so much boobs and ass on display…”

“Me too,” Pete nodded. “We were so innocent.”

Another comfortable silence as we both took a drink and looked across the resort. A single window in the southern block flickered to life, the glow of a television in the darkness.

“Speaking of reminiscing,” Pete said, breaking the silence, his voice dropping lower. “Do you ever think about that day…in the steam room?”

My heart gave a little flutter. “Me and you?”

“Yeah,” he said, not looking at me, instead focusing on the label of his bottle, picking at it with his thumbnail.

“Yea, sometimes,” I said. “Why?”

“I guess I think about it too…I think about it a lot, actually.”

I felt myself smile. “Do you?”

“I’ve gotta know…before we all go back to our normal lives…you wanted me to do something, didn’t you?”

“Maybe a little,” I admitted. “This place gets me so horny…”

“Damn,” he breathed, closing his eyes for a second as if the memory was physically painful. “I knew it.”

“I mean…I was naked and spread for you, Pete. It doesn’t get much less subtle than that.”

“Fuck,” he said. “I was so fucking scared,” he admitted.

“Of what?” I asked. “It’s just me.”

“I don’t know. Everything. Ruining it. Being a dork. You were just...you are just…” He laughed suddenly. “So fucking hot.”

I set the bottle down on the small balcony table.

“It’s never too late.”

He blinked. “What do you mean?”

“I mean its never too late to fuck me.”

Pete opened his mouth and then closed it again.

“I’m telling you to fuck me, Pete. Right here. Right now.”

I pushed my chair back with a slow scrape against the concrete, the sound swallowed by the distant music. Without a word, I turned and placed my hands on the warm metal of the railing, the breeze lifting the hair from my neck. I looked out at the resort as I slowly gathered the fabric of my skirt, pulling it up over my thighs until it was bunched at my hips, my sheer panties the only thing between him and my ass.

“I’m waiting,” I breathed, filled with sudden doubt and embarrassment.
